100MW Substation to be built at Vint Hill
The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) purchased 8.6 acres at Vint Hill Technology Campus with plans to build a 100 Mega Watt expandable substation to serve potential data centers, technology facilities and businesses including the planned Virginia Veterans Care Center expected to break ground this summer on the former Army base in Fauquier County, Virginia. According to Supervisor Holder Trumbo, NOVEC has agreed to run the high-voltage lines to the substation underground to minimize the substation's visual impact. The new substation greatly increases the viability for this prime site. For more information contact Al Shotwell.
